Residential Living Services

The Individual Residential Alternative (IRA) service is a program designed to assist individuals with developmental disabilities residing in a community living environment. Each home is operated and designed to assist individuals with developmental disabilities to live as independently as possible, where several non-related individuals live in a group setting. Arc of Yates operates homes in Penn Yan and Dundee, New York.

Residents of these homes are provided with oversight and care from highly-trained staff, while affording the opportunity to foster maximum growth and development, live in a comfortable, stable, and supportive environment, enhance adaptive living skills (daily living, communication, socialization, self-help), and increase community awareness.
