SkylArc Studio

SkylArc Studio is an individualized art program that provides opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities to express themselves through art.

Located downstairs at Lown’s House of Shoppes at 131 Main Street in Penn Yan, New York, SkylArc Studio provides a safe and comfortable environment that encourages creativity and self-expression for individuals.

While exploring artistic abilities, individuals not only learn about art, they learn about themselves. Staff work with individuals to foster their artistic capabilities while assisting them in developing skills in communication, socialization, and money management. By participating through SkylArc Studio, individuals achieve a higher level of independence, a stronger awareness of responsibility, and a sense of productivity in the community.

Artists specialize in glass mosaics, but also work in the mediums of acrylics, paper mache, photography, and glass fusing. Artists create work for their own use or for sale in the Studio’s store. Much of the work is commissioned by individuals and businesses and non-profit organizations in the community. We participate annually in art shows in the area. Members of the studio are always pleased to welcome visitors and are proud to show their latest creations.
